SALT LAKE CITY - The University of Utah men's golf team tees off their final fall tournament at the Alister MacKenzie Invitational, hosted by the University of California, in Fairfax, Calif. The tournament will take place Monday and Tuesday on the par-72, 6,718-yard Meadow Club golf course. This will be the Utes' inaugural appearance at the MacKenzie Invitational.
Thirty six holes of the tournament will be played Monday with a shotgun start at 8:15 a.m. PT, while the final 18 holes will be played on Tuesday with a 7:45 a.m. PT shotgun start.
The Utes will compete against 15 teams, including: BYU, Cal, Colorado, Colorado State, Fresno State, New Mexico State, Oregon, Oregon State, Pacific, San Diego State, San Francisco, San Jose State, UC Davis, UC Irvine, and Washington State.
Last Time Out
The Utes are coming of a two week break following a 10th-place finish at the William H. Tucker Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M., earlier this month. The squad posted a final score of 907 (304-301-302), while sophomore Gentry Hicks lead the way in the individual standings, swinging a mark of 223 (75-74-74) to tie for 24th.
