SALT LAKE CITY - Utah sophomore Dustin Pimm garnered national attention after his stellar performance at the Purple and Red Invitational held Sept. 19-20 at the Valley View Golf Course in Layton, Utah. Pimm was named Golfweek's Men's Player of the Week.
Pimm shot an 8-under-par 64, setting a new course and tournament record, in the final round of the tournament. He finished at 14-under (202) to outdistance himself from second place by five strokes and earn his first collegiate victory.
Pimm and the rest of the Utes take a break before competing in the Barona Cup Oct. 24-25 in San Diego, Calif.
