Utah golfer Dustin Pimm gave a strong showing at the British Amateur.

SANDWICH, England -- University of Utah sophomore Dustin Pimm was eliminated in the round of 32 at the British Amateur Wednesday.
Pimm was one of 288 golfers to qualify for the British Amateur. He advanced to match play by finishing the two-round, stroke-play portion of the event in a tie for 52nd place. The top 64 golfers in stroke play moved on to the round of 64 in match play.
Wednesday, Pimm opened match play, facing Wallace Booth of Comrie, England. Pimm picked up a relatively easy victory over Booth, taking the match 6 & 5. Pimm's second-round opponent was Yuki Ito, who was representing Japan. Ito took a hard-fought victory over Pimm by a tally of 3 & 2.
