SALT LAKE CITY - The University of Utah men's golf team is slated for its first ever appearance at the Pac-12 Championships in Corvallis, Ore., this weekend. The four-round tournament, hosted by Oregon State, will be held at the Trysting Tree Golf Club beginning with the first round on Friday and concluding Sunday with the final round.
Format
Two rounds of 18 holes are scheduled for Friday beginning at 8 a.m. PT, followed by the second round of at 1 p.m. PT. Round three will then begin Saturday at 9 a.m. PT for 18 holes. The tournament will then conclude with round four Sunday beginning at 8 a.m. PT.
The Field
The Utes will be competing against six top-12 nationally-ranked teams, including No. 3 UCLA, No. 5 USC, No. 6 Stanford, No. 7 California, No. 10 Oregon, and No. 12 Washington, as well as 15 individual players listed in the top 50. Utah will also contend with Colorado, Arizona, Arizona State, Oregon State, and Washington State.
Last Time Out
Utah wrapped up regular-season play at the Aggie Invitational in College Station, Texas last weekend. The Utes earned a 10th-place finish with a three-round mark of 1201 (418-394-389), while freshman Gentry Hicks led the squad in individual standings, capturing his career-best finish with an eight-over-par score of 224 (81-72-71) to tie for 11th.
