Garrett Clegg leads the Utes with a second-place finish at the Countrywide Intercollegiate.

SIMI VALLEY, Calif. - The University of Utah men's golf team added a final round 285 to finish in second at the Countrywide Intercollegiate. The Utes jumped from fourth after two rounds and finished with a team score of 867 (288-294-285), only eight-strokes back of the winner, Cal-State Stanislaus. Garrett Clegg shot a final round 69, to finish in second individually with a 212 (69-74-69. Clegg finished only three-strokes back of the eventual winner.
Casey Fowles finished fifth after a final round 68. Fowles shot a three round score of 214 (70-76-68). Luke Swilor finished in 10th with a 216 (73-69-74), Nick Summers added a 227 (76-77-74) and Nick Micek shot a 240 (84-75-81).
Utah matched its best finish of the season as this was the third time in the fall season the team has finished second. The Utes have now concluded the fall season and will resume play again on Feb. 18-20 at the John Burns Intercollegiate.
