Wayne Fisher is in his eighth year as head coach of the Utah men's golf team and in his 12th year with the Utah staff. This year is shaping up to be his best year as his team won the Countrywide Intercollegiate in October of 2002. The tournament win is Fisher's first as the Utah head coach. Fisher was a four-year assistant to longtime Utah head coach Ron Branca before taking over the reigns seven years ago.

He is also the assistant golf professional at The Country Club in Salt Lake City, Utah. He is a member of the Utah Section PGA and in his 19th year as a professional. During that time, Fisher has held positions at Wingpointe and Rose Park golf courses.

In 1992, he was honored as Utah Section PGA Assistant Golf Professional of the Year and in 1997 and 2001 he was chosen Utah Section PGA Teacher of the Year. A graduate of the University of Utah and a former Ute golfer, Fisher lettered four years (1978-81). He and his wife Vivien are the parents of three.
