Dec. 31, 2008

NEW ORLEANS -
The Utah football team will practice in the Louisiana Superdome today--its first practice in the dome and its final practice prior to the Allstate Sugar Bowl on Jan. 2. The Utes, who have been practicing at nearby Tulane University since arriving in New Orleans on Dec. 27, will get their first feel for the game field during this morning's drills.

Other events on the team's schedule for Dec. 31 include the Allstate Sugar Bowl Fan Fest at 5 p.m., followed by a Riverboat Tour and dinner. On Jan.1, the Utes will hold a walk-through at the Superdome, and at 5 p.m., the team and coaches will participate in a University of Utah pep rally at the team hotel (the New Orleans Marriott on 555 Canal Street).

The Allstate Sugar Bowl, featuring 12-0 Utah and 12-1 Alabama, will be held on Jan. 2, starting at 7 p.m. in the Superdome.
