Poinsettia Bowl Press Release

SAN DIEGO--The Utah football team held its final practice today in preparation for Wednesday's Poinsettia Bowl clash with California. The Utes conducted a crisp two-hour practice on the campus of San Diego State under cloudy skies and 60-degree temperatures.

The travel squad practiced in shorts and black (defense), white (offense) or red (quarterbacks) jerseys, while the scout teams were clad in bright yellow jerseys to mimic California's colors.

Tonight, the Utes will enjoy a night at the Miramar Speed Circuit as part of the bowl festivities. On Tuesday, they will have meetings in the morning, followed by the AT&T Team Luncheon and Tour on the aircraft carrier the USS Midway. The lunch will feature a Battle of the Bands between Utah and Cal, and guest speakers.

In the late afternoon, the Utes will hold a closed walk through before returning to the team hotel (the Hilton Bayside) for a pep rally with their fans at 5:30 p.m.
