SALT LAKE CITY - Utah director of athletic ticket sales Dave Copier is encouraging fans to buy tickets early for the Utah vs. Utah State game on Aug. 28 at 7:00 p.m. at Rice-Eccles Stadium.
With more than 1,000 new season ticket packages sold, the anticipated debuts of head coach Urban Meyer and the new videoboard, and the match-up with in-state rival Utah State, the best seats are expected to go quickly for the 2003 season opener.
"Since practice started last week, we've noticed a significant increase in season and single-game sales," said Copier. "As we get closer to kickoff for the season opener, it's just going to get busier."
"Season openers against Utah State are always huge sellers," Copier continued. "Two years ago we had the biggest walk-up sale in school history, and four years ago the game produced the second-largest crowd in the stadium's history at 45,224."
