Notes from day two of Utah football camp

*Terrance Cain joined Corbin Louks in the morning session on the McCarthey Practice Fields, replacing freshman Jordan Wynn. Said Head Coach Kyle Whittingham, "All three guys need exposure with the `ones' (starters). This is our last day of split practices and it's going to be very hard to get all three guys enough reps from here on out." Whittingham says he would like to narrow the field to two after next Thursday's scrimmage.

* Whittingham's Stars of the Day: On defense, linebacker Stevenson Sylvester. For the offense, wide receiver David Reed.

* Ben Vroman has established himself as the No. 1 place kicker, while Sean Sellwood leads the punting field. Behind both is true freshman Nick Marsh.

* The Utes will practice as a single unit starting Saturday, taking the field in the morning for a two-hour workout. The afternoon will be spent doing media interviews and getting head shots taken for television.

Utes line up in shorts and shirts in the second day of camp.
