SALT LAKE CITY -
ABC 4 (KTVX), The CW 30 (KUCW) and The Hive TV are the new official television partners of University of Utah athletics after negotiating a multi-year agreement with Utah Sports Properties. Coverage will include the coaches' shows, preseason broadcasts, pre-game shows and other Ute sporting events.

ABC 4 Sports Director Wesley Ruff, sports reporter Kent Rupe and sports anchor Dana Greene will serve as hosts. The football and men's basketball coaches' shows will air live on Sundays at 10:30 p.m. on ABC 4. The CW 30 will replay the coaches' shows on Saturday afternoons.

"We're very excited about partnering with ABC 4, The CW 30 and The Hive TV," said Utah Director of Athletics Dr. Chris Hill. "The ABC 4 sports team has been a part of the Utah television landscape for many years now and has a great reputation."

"We think this is just what Utah fans are looking for," said the stations' Vice President/General Manager David D'Antuono. "We have a knowledgeable host in Wesley Ruff, who will give our viewers access to their favorite teams and coaches. We couldn't be more excited to partner with a university so rich in history, tradition and success in its athletics department as the University of Utah."

Ruff added, "Our sports department will continue to work hard covering the Utah athletic teams, but this new relationship is a great addition to ABC 4. I'm very happy it's our team that gets to bring students, alumni, and all Ute fans a special look into the Utah sports programs."

Utah football coach Kyle Whittingham is also looking forward to the new television partnership. "As a life-long resident of this state, I have a great deal of respect for the sports reporters at ABC 4. I see this partnership as a boon to our instate recruiting efforts, as well as an opportunity for our fans to get an in depth look at the players on our team."
