The MWC named Spencer Toone one of seven Utah football players honoered with the Scholar-Athlete Award.

SALT LAKE CITY - The University of Utah football team had seven of its student-athletes honored by the Mountain West Conference today, recognizing them with the Scholar-Athlete Award.
Honored were: Brigham Au, Sr., 3.77, Spanish; Adam Madsen, Sr., 3.90, Biology; Nik Sonntag, Jr., 3.61, Business; Cody Sorenson, Jr., 3.60, Business; Spencer Toone, Sr., 3.80, Speech Communication; Reza Williams, Sr., 3.91, Sociology; Aaron Smith, So., 3.51; Art.
To be eligible, student-athletes must have completed at least two semesters or three quarters at the certifying institution while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better, and have competed in at least one varsity contest in their respective sport.
