Gary Andersen played a big part in Utah's latest recruiting class. |
Feb. 11, 2006
SALT LAKE CITY -
Online recruiting service Rivals.com has touted the latest Utah football recruiting class as "the top non-BCS conference class in the nation," and cited Ute defensive coordinator Gary Andersen as the No. 1 recruiter from a non-BCS school in 2006. Particularly impressive to Rivals.com was Andersen's ability to lure eight instate recruits to the U. He also spearheaded Utah's junior college recruiting efforts.
Utah's staff signed 20 new recruits on National Letter of Intent day, Feb. 1, and has 25 total in its 2006 recruiting class, counting four mid-year junior college transfers and one mid-year incoming freshman. The class includes 19 high school and six junior college players.
