Utah Head Coach Kyle Whittingham
On the win -
"This is a nice win for our program. We had to play all 60 minutes tonight. Stanford is a tremendous team and very physical."
"So many guys made plays tonight. There were a lot of positives from this game. At the same time we have a lot of work still to do."
On the play of the defense -
"We were able to win this game in the end. The team made plays at the wire and that was the difference. We've had a few other close games this season where we weren't able to make those plays down the stretch and tonight we did."
"Our defense did a terrific job. They only gave up two scores. One was on special teams."
On Ty Montgomery -
"Stanford's Ty Montgomery is a heck of a player. We tried to kick away from him, he's just that good."
On the giving up an early touchdown -
"Our first drive tonight was not so good. We had some missed tackles, turned some routes loose and just did some things wrong. But after that drive we settled in and got good pressure on their quarterback. This was a total team effort to get the win."
Utah QB Travis Wilson
"This was a great win for the team as a whole. The defense got a huge stop on the last drive."
"This win is very exciting and we've just got to keep building off of this momentum."
"Stanford is a great team and put up a big fight."
"Our game plan was perfect tonight. We wanted to spread the ball around to loosen up the middle for the running game and were able to do that."
Utah WR Dres Anderson
"This feels great! It feels like we won the national title."
"The TD Travis (Wilson) threw to me was one where he just put it out there and I tried to make a play."
"We are excited to win this game but it is what we expected to do, and now we have to keep moving forward."
"This is such a great environment. Our fans love us and it was nice to have them show their appreciation for our hard work."
Utah RB Bubba Poole
"Our offensive line did a great job opening holes tonight. This was a game where every play counted and they made great plays."
Utah DE/LB Trevor Reilly
"It feels great. This is the first time we've beaten a top 10 team since I've been here in 2009. It feels like a little bit of redemption from the TCU loss a few years ago."
"Our defensive stand was huge at the end. They came through in the end and showed great toughness."
Stanford Head Coach David Shaw
On the game overall -
"First of all, I want to say that we knew we were coming into a hornets' nest here. UCLA came in here a week ago and barely squeaked out. We knew it would be a battle and we didn't play well enough."
"We had a few sparks early in the game on special teams but not enough, and we can do so much better. Our front seven didn't play well tonight. Some of the pressure was our QB's fault and some wasn't. We will go watch the film and see what we can do better moving forward."
On Utah running back Bubba Poole -
"Utah did a good job. They are a good team and have always been good, and this is the best I have seen them play all year. Everyone in our conference knows that this is one of the toughest places to play. Utah is really big up front and creates issues for us on the defensive side. We made adjustments that slowed them up the second half, but they did a good job. We missed tackles and didn't play well enough. Good teams play hard and smart, we didn't do that tonight."
