Utes Look Good in First Spring Scrimmage

Whittingham pleased with team's play

UTAH: Walk-on fullback joined the team as a transfer in 2010 ... missed spring camp with a wrist injury, but will be cleared for contact drills by August.

PRIOR TO UTAH: Lettered at Weber State in 2005 and 2006, playing in 21 games, before leaving on a church mission to the West Indies ... honorable mention all-Big Sky linebacker in 2006 finished third on the team with 55 tackles, which included three tackles for loss and a sack ... as a true freshman in 2005, he played in 10 games with 20 tackles, three tackles for loss, a sack and two fumble recoveries ... attended four high schools, all in Utah: Highland, Lone Peak, Olympus and Murray ... first-team all-state linebacker as a senior at Murray High in 2004 ... second-team all-state running back for Olympus High in 2003 ... rushed for 1,500 yards and 21 touchdowns as a junior ... averaged 11.5 tackles per game his senior year ... first-team all-conference in 2003 and 2004 ... also played rugby for Highland High School--winning three national titles ... honor roll student graduated with honors and a 3.6 cumulative GPA.
