UTAH: Joined the team the second week of fall camp in 2012 ... showed good running and receiving skills ... coaches want to see his playing weight increase to 200 pounds.
PRIOR TO UTAH: First-team All-Southern Conference as a freshman at Saddleback College ... led the team with 305 yards rushing on 57 attempts (5.4 average) ... four rushing touchdowns ... also caught 23 passes for 282 yards and two touchdowns ... returned a punt 32 yards for a touchdown ... Saddleback played in the 2011 Golden State Bowl ... ran a leg on the school-record setting 4x400 relay team (3:14.76) ... first-team all-state, Northwest League Offensive MVP and first-team all-conference as a senior at Cimarron Memorial HS (Nev.) ... 1,678 rushing yards with 20 touchdowns as a senior ... also lettered three years in track, twice earning team MVP honors.
PERSONAL: Son of TJ Poole and Jeanetta Edmond ... two sisters ... when he was one year of age, he was struck by a ricocheting bullet that entered the side of his stomach and exited his thigh (he was shot in his cradle during a struggle over a gun brought into his parents' home by two men believed to be after his father's lowrider car) ... full name is James Marquez Poole ... born April 2, 1992.
