Zac Connors is in his second year as a graduate assistant coach and his first year working with the quarterbacks. Last year, Connors assisted with the offensive line. He is in his fourth year overall on the staff, having spent the 2006-07 seasons as an offensive administrative assistant.
In Connors' first year on the field, Utah featured one of the best offensive lines in the Mountain West Conference. Left tackle Zane Beadles and right guard Robert Conley won first-team all-conference honors, while Zane Taylor was an honorable mention all-league choice in his first year as the starting center.
Prior to his move to Salt Lake City, Connors worked as an undergraduate assistant at Southern Utah in the spring of 2006, helping coach the Thunderbird quarterbacks. He volunteered with the Concord High School (Calif.) varsity team in the spring of 2005 and summer of 2006. His coaching duties at Concord involved the quarterbacks and wide receivers.
Connors played quarterback in college for Mt. San Antonio College, St. Mary's and Southern Utah. He transferred to SUU when St. Mary's dropped its program. He was the primary backup at SUU in 2004-05, starting in four games as a senior. In seven total games in 2005, Connors passed for 1,083 yards and eight touchdowns.
Connors, a 2006 graduate of Southern Utah in physical education, is currently pursuing a master's degree in sports management. The 26-year-old is a native of Clayton, Calif.
