SALT LAKE CITY - Luke Nevill, a sophomore center for Utah, has been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-District 13 team.
Nevill, 7-foot-1, 265-pounds, is the Utes' leading scorer (16.9 ppg) and rebounder (7.7 rpg). He is shooting 63.5 percent from the field, 75.0 percent from the free throw line, and also has a team-best 29 blocked shots. Nevill has led the Utes 14 times in scoring and 18 times in rebounding this season, which are team highs in both categories.
Nevill ranks ninth in the NCAA in field goal percentage and 89th in rebounds per game. The Perth, Australia, native has had nine double-doubles this season. He has scored in double figures in all but two of the games he's played, including 10 in a row.
The 150 student-athletes from 15 districts are now eligible for the NABC Division I All-America team to be announced at the conclusion of the regular season.
