Utah Head Coach Ray Giacoletti:
"The team is still a little shaken by the Arizona game. We are going to get better by playing defense, which gets us easy baskets. We need to do a better job pressuring each team on defense and that will make everything else easier."
"Ricky Johns had great energy and really defended well tonight. Our effort was better, but it's different playing a team without a true five. We put Tim Drisdom in the starting lineup to bring some leadership on the floor. We are going to do whatever it takes to get better and I will put in someone who will bring that to this team."
"It doesn't matter what conference our next opponent is in, we need to come out and play. Washington State is a great opportunity right before Christmas and we are looking forward to the game. We have a few days to prepare and get ready for them."
Utah Senior Forward Bryant Markson:
"We are trying to redeem our confidence after Arizona. This was a good team to play. They ran a lot of different stuff, which allowed us to really work on our one-on-one defense."
"We turned it up on the offensive end in the second-half. We hung close in the first, but we got some runs going and that came from good defense. A win is a win, but I know we are really going to have to get better to beat Washington State on their home floor."
Utah Freshman Forward Shaun Green:
"Our team came together in the second-half and really tried to execute and limit our turnovers. We need to work some more on our defense and executing our offense to beat Washington State."
"We will be ready for Washington State, if we stay motivated. I'm feeling comfortable in the system right now. The coaches and players have confidence in me and that allows me to perform."
