Utah Head Coach Ray Giacoletti
"We took a step in the right direction defensively tonight. We were a little bit inept offensively the first half; we didn't punch the gaps, but did much better punching gaps in the second half and got some clean looks at it. Down the stretch it's all about getting the defensive stop or getting a great look at the offensive end [or] getting yourself to the free throw line, and we didn't give ourselves a chance either way. But we did get better defensively tonight."
Utah Center Luke Nevill
"Tonight we did much better than our previous games, crashing the glass and not allowing them to get off seconds shots. I didn't get as many shots as I would have liked, but this is a team sport and we just weren't getting as much as we usually do on the offensive end. We're really disappointed about the loss but it's still much better than our last two games, we have improved since then and just have to work on getting crucial stops and score the ball offensively as well."
Colorado Head Coach Ricardo Patton
"Two young teams tonight, I guess it just came down to who made the last play tonight."
"Giacoletti is a great coach and when we play against his team we know they will be prepared. They play hard, but when your team is young you will have some growing pains.
"Both teams struggled and it's really cause of the youth. A year ago these kids were playing high school basketball and there is so much to learn at this level. Playing against juniors and seniors takes time to adjust to."
"One characteristic of youth is inconsistency, that's just part of being young."
"We shot much better today. When Richard Roby is playing well it gives us a boost. He did well tonight and we had been waiting for him to show up. Thank goodness he played well tonight."
"We knew we'd have our hands full with Bryant and Nevill, but our zone did a great job tonight."
