Utah Head Coach Jim Boylen
"I thought we lacked execution, took some quick shots in the first half. I thought we defended well in the first half. We had a hard time getting our running game going. 27 points at the half is our lowest of the season so far. They did a nice job slowing it down and we were at a snail's pace. We want to run and get up and down and we didn't have a chance to do that. They shot 59% on our floor and that's inexcusable for us, it can't happen."
"This is part of this process, where Luke (Nevill) has got to grow up. We've got to grow up as a team, and we've got to get tougher. Maybe I'm practicing these guys too hard, maybe I'm driving them too hard, but that's the way we're going to do it here. We're going practice tomorrow and we're going to practice them the next day. That's what we're going do were. This is part of this process that started March 26th when I got the job. We are going to have to handle adversity."
"These are my guys, I'm thankful for who I have. We have to play better and get tougher. Nothing has changed from where we were two weeks ago as far as where we've got to go and what we've got to do."
"Is this a devastating loss to our program? No. Is this a bad loss at home? Yes it is. Do we have to grow and get better? Hell yeah, we do."
"I'm not discouraged. I'm not down. We're going to keep working and get better and better. That's the only way I know how to do and that's the only way those guys will know how to do it."
Santa Clara Head Coach Kerry Keating
"We had to milk some of our time off of the bench with some guys that normally wouldn't play as many minutes due to the foul trouble with John (Bryant)."
"We understand that if we stick to our principles and get it to half court, we can execute. We pride ourselves on screening and obviously it helped us get some shots tonight."
