Utah Head Coach Ray Giacoletti
"We turned over the ball too many times today, but we did get in a flow in the second-half. We were making some tough passes and they played good defense. We tried to give them some different looks, but they came out and played well. Justin (Hawkins) has really stepped up his game and has made a big different for us."
"When you have a guy like Andrew Bogut to coach, it doesn't happen very often and we as a coaching staff feel really fortunate to have coached him. Also with a senior like Marc Jackson who gives his heart and soul every game, it does make my job easier. This type of opportunity doesn't come around too often."
"I first saw Bogut at the Olympic Games and the opening game against the Greeks. He was one of the youngest players and he didn't back down. That really showed how special of a player he was going to be. I really want what is best for him, no matter where it takes him."
"Justin is starting to get comfortable on the floor. He has really been working hard on his shooting and I think it has really paid off. Tim (Dridom) has had a few good practices and we are hoping to get him healthy."
"We are going into the (Mountain West Conference) tournament and we are going to go in and play like it is our last game. We have a lot to prepare for, but we are going to be ready and prepared for Colorado State."
Utah Sophomore Justin Hawkins
"We did a good job of moving the ball and playing defense. I thought as a team we did a great job of that today."
"It has been a great opportunity playing with Bogut and Jackson this season and I really look up to both of those guys. I have learned a lot from them and they work really hard. They are great leaders."
Utah Senior Marc Jackson
"It's always nice to have the support of the fans. We really appreciate all that they do for us and that is what makes the games fun. We are excited about being undefeated on our home court, but we really need to win this tournament."
Utah Sophomore Andrew Bogut
"This was a great day especial with my father being here. I'm glad the fans appreciate me as a player and we really appreciate their support."
"I will make my final decision after the season is over, probably two or threes day after. I'm taking it one step at a time and trying to do my best."
"I want to thank the fans for coming out today. They didn't have to come out today but they did."
San Diego St. Head Coach Steve Fisher
"Statically, Utah is one of the better rebounding teams in the country and they did it again to us tonight. We fought hard and hung in there. We would've had to have gotten a little bit lucky, in addition to playing well, to pull out a win today. I think when we cut it to six fairly late in the game and we had a player trapped, I thought that we would have surprised them and gotten a steal. Instead he got the ball out of there and hit a lay up. We missed a shot and they got another lay up. Now six points turns into 10 fairly late in the game and there was no chance."
