Recap | Final Stats | Notes
Utah Head Coach Ray Giacoletti
"We talked about on Monday to try and recommit ourselves for 26 more days, and this is a step in the right direction. When you give that much effort, it doesn't matter whether in basketball or whatever in life, believe me I don't have all the answers, you can lie down at night and feel good about yourself. Win, lose or draw, lay it out on the line and give a great effort and they did a great job tonight."
"Our defense was pretty solid. Everybody seemed to do a good job with their assignment. It was a pretty good battle, the two big kids. I'm just happy for these kids because they've continued to battle and fight. It is a good BYU team, they're playing well and they've got a lot of different weapons."
Utah Guard Tim Drisdom
"It feels great, it's good to get a win at this point, no matter who it is. With BYU there's a little more at stake. I'm real happy for our guys and for my coaches. At this point we need to get wins and if we can get them on our home court it's even better."
Utah Center Luke Nevill
On the big first half run: "I think it was our defense. We didn't give them open shots and good looks and we just wore them out."
Utah Guard Chris Grant
"I wanted it so bad. I watched the film of our last gave against BYU last night with the family and I'm just so excited. I can't put into words how it feels, but I'll remember this one for a long time. Gotta try and do the little things, and a lot of times when you rebound the little guy will get some boards."
BYU Head Coach Dave Rose
"Utah played a very good game and they came out with a good game plan. Obviously, they did a good job defending us. It's hard to win games when you shoot 30 percent from the field. I thought offensively, they were really good. We tried to take away their inside game, but they did a good job passing the ball and making shots. Give them a lot of credit, they played very well."

"We took quick shots and they were not at our pace. We didn't get the ball into the post and when we did, we didn't make plays off of it. We tried to make too many plays off the dibble and that is not how we play."
