What is your favorite baseball memory?
Winning state for Murryhill Little League when I was 12.
What is your favorite sport besides baseball?
Basketball. Go Blazers!
What do you like to do when you are not playing baseball?
Play guitar and go hunting.
Do you have a nickname? How did you get your nickname?
Big O. It stands for Big Oregon. I am called that much more often than my real name.
Why did you choose Utah? What is the best thing about Utah?
It offered the best baseball opportunity for me to get better. The best thing is how we pride ourselves in our sports, and the rivalry with BYU.
Who has been the biggest influence in your life and why?
My dad - he pushes me to do things I could never do on my own. He is there through everything. My little brother John - him looking up to me motivates me to be a better person and set a good example.
My favorite thing about Salt Lake City is:
Everything. The U, the mountains, the snow, the Temple, downtown, and most of all my new teammates.
The teammate I most admire is who, and why?
Tyler Wagner. He is a goofy guy, but when it's time to play ball, he makes sure everyone is giving everything they got and getting better every day.
What do you like best about Coach Kinneberg?
He trusts all of his players and is completely honest with feedback.
What are your goals for this year?
Get faster and more developed as a catcher, and to show the Pac-12 that we belong.
What are your pregame superstitions?
Tape my left wrist, and write the Bible verse James 4:7 to remind me that God is with me.
