SALT LAKE CITY - The University of Utah women's cross country team continues to train this week in preparation for the Pre-Nationals Cross Country meet hosted by Indiana State on October 18, 2008. There will be over 80 teams present from around the country competing in the 6K race on the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course.

LAST WEEK
Three Utes traveled to Orem, Utah to compete in the Utah Valley University Open last Friday. The 5K afternoon race was a great opportunity to give the Utah runners some additional exposure to collegiate racing.

Zoe Roy, the newest runner to join the Ute squad, finished first as an unattached runner. Roy crossed the line 30th overall with a 20:06.4 finish time in her first race as a Ute runner.

Sydney Osmun ran for a 47th place finish in the UVU Open. The Ute clocked in at 20:52.7, which is an improved time from her last 5K race where she finished 21:15.0 at the Colorado State Open.

Brooke Casagranda ran her first collegiate race last week as an unattached runner at the UVU Open. The Ute finished with a time of 22:54.3 placing 65th overall.
