Cross Country Takes Fifth at Montana State Bobcat Invitation Mackelprang paces Utes with a 13th place finish (17:54)
Bozeman, Mont- Becky Mackelprang led the University of Utah placing 13th at the MSU Bobcat Invitational this afternoon. Mackelprang paced the Utes in the 3 mile run placing 13th with a time of 17:54.
Utah took fifth of eight teams with a total of 105 team points. Leading the way was Weber State (25 points), University of Montana (61), Utah State (79), Montana State (102), U of U, Concordia College (181) , MSU Billings (222), and Westminster (252).
"Overall I was pleased with the way we ran." Said Coach Kyle Kepler, "We ran a conservative race and were able to follow the race plan. The athletes really stepped it up today and continue to grow and improve." Kepler continues "The next step overall and for the program is to look forward to the Utah Fall Twilight on the 29th.
Also scoring for the Utes was Chelsea DiGrazia (19th, 18:14), Alyssa Abbott (20th, 18:16), Stephanie Skoreyko (24th, 18:38), Kellie Anderson (29th, 19:02), Lauren Endersen (31st, 19:07), and Janette Ern (34th, 19:17).
"Mackelprang continues to do well staying in front of the pack running a great race." Kepler says, "DiGrazia and Abbott ran side-by-side for the entire race and finished 2 seconds apart as well."
Lindsey Anderson from Weber won the meet pacing a time of 16:54.
The Utes return to action on Sept. 29th hosting the Utah Fall Twilight at Rose Park Golf Course in Salt Lake City, Utah.
