Jan. 10, 2006
This Week: The Universitry of Utah track and field team heads to Provo, Utah for the Brigham Young Invitational this Friday and Saturday, January 13th and 14th.
Meet preview: Teams joining Utah at this event are to be announced.
Quoting Head Coach Kyle Kepler: "Our student-athletes are excited to return to campus and get the season started. Our entire coaching staff was pleased with how their fall training progressed. Now it's time to find out where we really are and where we need to make improvements.
"Even though it is the first meet of the season and is not as high powered meet as others later in the season--it's still BYU--and our kids want to perform well and get the season off to a good start.
"As a coaching staff our focus is going to be on the quality of effort we get from each of our athletes. We're going to focus on us and not worry too much about where everyone else is at this point."
Ute Notes: This is the first time the Ute track and field team will face conference rival BYU.
