Albuquerque, N.M. - The University of Utah track and field team finished the final day of competition at the Mountain West Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday, May 16. Hosted by New Mexico, the meet featured athletes from all Mountain West Conference outdoor track and field teams. San Diego State women's team won the championship with 217 points while BYU's men's team won with 270 points. Utah's women's team finished fifth scoring 73.50 points while the men finished sixth with seven total points.
Leading the way for Utah were Nellie Hammons, Aubry Startin, Katie Decker and Elise Greenwood. Hammons finished third in the 800 meters with a time of 2:08.37. Decker and Startin tied for second place in the high jump with a height of 1.70 meters. Greenwood finished fifth in the 5,000 meters with a time of 18:26.03.
