Utah's 4x400m relay finishes sixth at Mt. Sac Relays. |

WALNUT, Calif. – The University of Utah women’s track and field team got off to another solid start on the second day of the Mt. Sac Relays. Several Utah athletes posted season-best performances and finished in the top-10 of their respective events.
Leading off the action of the second day was junior Angela Kaplar in the 100m hurdles. Running in the sixth heat, Kaplar finished sixth in the heat and 16th overall with a time of 13.89 seconds.
Junior Stephanie Jolley led the team in the 400m hurdles. Jolley posted another solid performance finishing 10th overall with a time of 1:00.01. Her time marks a new season-best time and the fourth consecutive meet that she has improved on her previous meet’s time.
The 4x400m relay featured the Utes in the second heat of the event. The relay comprised of Lauryn McKay(56.70), Ali Eisenbeiss(56.20), Elise McVicar(56.09) and Jolley(54.21) came down to the final stretch of the race. On the final leg, Jolley was neck and neck with University of Mary’s Nicketa Coombs who was able to cross the line just ahead of Jolley giving the Utes second place in the heat. The Utes finished with a season-best time of 3:43.46 earning sixth overall in the event.
Junior Amanda Mergaert competed in the 1500m invitational race. Mergaert ran a season-best time of 4:22.76 finishing 11th place.
Representing the Utes in the hammer throw was junior Anneli Stahl. On the first attempt, Stahl recorded her best mark of 171-04 feet. Her performance earned 34th overall.

With the conclusion of the second day at the Mt. Sac Relays, the Utes will head to Long Beach where they are set to compete at the Long Beach State Invitational on Saturday.
