LOGAN, Utah - The track and field teams finished competition for the Mark Faldmo Invitational on Saturday, April 19. Hosted by Utah State, the invitational featured athletes from Brigham Young University, Utah Valley State College, Weber State and Montana State.
Leading the way for Utah were Brooke LoBue, Nellie Hammons, Katie Decker, and Vanessa Mortensen. Hammons had a spectacular meet finishing first in the 800 meters with a time of 2:09.34. Her time was not only a new personal record, but also a school record and a regional qualifying mark. Decker finished second in the high jump with a height of 1.70 meters and LoBue finished third in the pole vault with a height of 3.81 meters. Mortensen had another great performance in the hammer throw setting a mark of 57.36 meters, which was good enough for second place.
"Everyone did a great job," states head coach Lisa Archer. "We are showing consistency in our marks and we're ready for next week's Robison Invitational at BYU."
