LOGAN, Utah - The University of Utah Outdoor Track and field team finished competition for the Mark Faldmo Invitational on Saturday, April 16. Held at Ralph Maughan Stadium, the meet featured athletes from Utah, Utah State, Weber State and Idaho State.
Senior Nephi Tyler led the way for the Utes in Logan, this weekend. Tyler claimed victories in the 1,500m and the 800m. Tyler boasted a 3:53.25 time in the 1,500 and finished the 800 in 1:53.65.
The Utah men's squad also got a strong performance from Vance Twitchell, who finished second in the 5,000m with 15:14.63.
The women's squad claimed victories in the 1,500m and the 400m. Sophomore Jennie Haertel won the 1,500m, finishing in 4:34.1. Candice Mannion claimed Utah's second victory, grabbing the gold in the 400m with a time of 58.33.
Katy Barton, and Mandie Rowell also had strong performances for the women's squad. Barton finished second in the long jump with 18' 4.00", while Rowell nabbed second place in the triple jump with 37' 4.00".
