FRESNO, Calif. - The Utah outdoor track and field team finished competition for the Bob Mathias Fresno Relays on Saturday, April 5. The Utes had another successful weekend with a two regional qualifying marks and a new school record set in Fresno.
Leading the way for the women at the Fresno Relays were Aubry Startin, Kristy Slade, Brooke LoBue and Amber DeVries. LoBue improved her regional qualifying mark and set a new school record in the pole vault with a height of 3.92 meters. Startin had a great meet finishing first in the high jump with a height of 1.70 meters. Startin's performance was a new personal record and a regional qualifying mark. Slade finished third in the long jump with a distance of 5.68 meters, and DeVries finished fourth in the javelin with a distance of 36.31 meters.
"We are really happy with Aubry and Brooke's performances," stated Head Coach Lisa Archer. "Our regional team keeps growing and getting stronger as the season continues."
