COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo - The Utah indoor track and field teams finished the second day of competition for the Mountain West Conference Championships on Friday, Feb. 28. Held at the Air Force Academy's Cadet Field House, the meet features athletes from all MWC schools. After the second day of competition the women's team are in fifth place with a total of 26.5 points while the men are in sixth place with four points.
Leading the way for the women were Brooke LoBue, Nellie Hammons, Andrea Davidson, and Kristy Slade. LoBue finished second in the pole vault with a height of 3.88 meters. Davidson finished second in the 800 meters followed by Hammons at third. Slade placed third in the pentathlon with 3,613 points and finished fifth in the long jump with a distance of 5.52 meters.
On the men's side, Nephi Tyler led the team by placing third in the one mile with a time of (4:20.02). Ivan Alvarado placed eight in the 800 meters with a time of 1:55.28 and Delfino Arevalo finished night in the 5,000 meters with a time of 15:39.67.
