Amanda Feigt sets a new pentathlon record |
Feb. 22, 2007
Senior Amanda Feigt placed second in the pentathlon today at the Mountain West Conference Indoor Championship in Albuquerque, N.M. with 3891 points. Feigt's score was not only a personal best but a new school record which she beat by 11 points.
"I am very proud of her today," says coach Kyle Kepler. "She was able to get the meet started the way we wanted and took care of business when it was necessary."
True Freshman Jennifer Neddo also had a good showing today. This was her first ever multi-event experience as she scored a total of 2741 points.
"I look forward to see her grow with the event and know she will only get better," Kepler says. "This is a great attribute to her character; it shows she is a team player which is great for the program."
After the first day of competition the Utes sit in second place with eight points right behind Colorado State with 19. The events will continue Friday at 1p.m. with the women's weight throw.
