Utah dominated the pole vault at the Weber State Tune Up last weekend.

OGDEN, Utah - The University of Utah indoor track and field teams finished competition for the Weber State Tune Up on Saturday, Feb. 21. Held at the Swenson Multi-Purpose Arena, the meet featured athletes from Utah, Weber State, Utah State and Utah Valley State College.
The Utes dominated several events including the women's pole vault and the weight throw. Utah finished with the top three marks in the pole vault while finishing second, third and fourth in the weight throw.
Leading the way for the women were Andrea Davidson and Tracy Hamblin, who both notched first-place finishes in their respective events. Davidson won the 800m run with a mark of 2:15.11 while Hamblin took gold in the pole vault with a height of 12' 2.00".
On the men's side, veterans Delfino Arevalo and Nephi Tyler led the way. Tyler won the 800m race boasting a 1:53.55 finish. Arevalo took gold in the mile run with a 4:21.61 mark.
"This was a fine-tuning meet," states Head Coach Lisa Archer. "We had many athletes earn their spot on the conference team. It was good preparation for next week's Mountain West Conference Championships."
