NAMPA, Idaho - The University of Utah indoor track and field teams finished competition for the Holiday Inn Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 14. Held at the Idaho Sports Center, the meet featured athletes from Cal Poly, Cal State Fullerton, Cal State-LA, Cal State Northridge, Cal State Dominguez Hills, Northwest Nazarene, San Diego State, UC-Riverside, Nevada-Las Vegas, Hawaii, Utah State and Utah Valley State College. The Utes set numerous personal records on both the men's and women's side and set school records in the 800m and 4x400 meter relay.

Leading the way for the women were Nellie Hammons and Tracy Hamblin, who both notched first-place finishes in their respective events. Hammons won the 800m run with an NCAA provisionally qualifying mark of 2:08.63. Her performance is not only a personal record, but also a school record for that event. "This was one of our strongest meet ever," states Head Coach Lisa Archer. "Our coaching staff is very proud the athletes.
