POCATELLO, Idaho - The Utah indoor track and field teams finished the first day of competition for the Mountain State Games on Friday, Feb. 7. Hosted by Idaho State, the meet was held at the ISU's Holt Arena and featured Utah, Brigham Young, Montana, Utah Valley State College, Oregon and Weber State.
Leading the way for Utah, were Brooke LoBue, Kristy Slade, Delfino Arevalo and Trisha Wagner. LoBue won the pole vault with a height of 12' 6.00" followed by Wagner at second with a height 11' 6.00". Slade led the way in the pentathlon. Her top performances included second place finishes in the shot put (12.29m) and the long jump (5.50m). On the men's side, Arevalo won the 5,000-meter run with a time of 14:44.34.
Competition for the meet will continue on Saturday, Feb. 8. Competition will begin at 9:00 a.m.
