Collet also coached high jumper April Jackson, who finished second at the conference championships.

Before coming to Utah, Collet was the graduate assistant for the compliance office at Fresno State for two years. She received the Fresno State Track Coaches' Award for Excellence in 1997.

Collet, a former NCAA All-America heptathlete, competed at Fresno State and Cal State Hayward. She was the Fresno State track and field team captain and voted team MVP for field performance in 1994. Academically, Collet was named a Scholar Athlete Award recipient from 1993-97. She made the Dean's List from 1995-97.

While working as an assistant coach at Utah, Collet spent her summers fighting forest fires for the United States National Forest Service as a wildland firefighter. In addition to coaching, she enjoys hiking, camping and traveling.

Collet is a native of San Jose, Calif., and holds two degrees from Fresno State. In 1997, she received a bachelor's degree in kinesiology, and later earned her master's degree specializing in sport psychology and bio mechanics in 2001.
