The University of Utah men's swimming and diving team is gaining momentum after just its second year as a part of the Pac-12 Conference. The transition into the fastest conference in the nation has had its tumultuous moments for Utah, but it is apparent that the Utes are adjusting well.

Joe Dykstra has been hired as the new head men's and women's swimming and diving coach at the University of Utah, Director of Athletics Dr. Chris Hill announced today. Dykstra, the 2013 Sun Belt Conference co-Coach of the Year, has spent the past seven years as the head women's coach at the University of North Texas.

The University of Utah Swimming and Diving team was successful in the classroom as an impressive 11 student-athletes from the women's squad were named to the Pac-12 All-Conference Academic Team, while four Ute men were honored.

The University of Utah swim team took full advantage of its last outing of the 2012-13 season during the final day of the NCAA Men's Championships. Nick Soedel, Josiah Purss and Kristian Kron all had one more race in the pool.

The University of Utah continued competing at the NCAA Mens' Swimming & Diving Championships at IU Natatorium as Nick Soedel, Josiah Purss and Kristian Kron represented the Utes.
