SALT LAKE CITY - SALT LAKE CITY - University of Utah Head Coach Michael Litzinger announced the 2006 fall signings for the swimming team on Thursday. The Utes added two women and three men to the team during the early signing period. For the women Utah natives Natalie Edge and Kristina Evans will join the team. On the men's side Utah added Garrett Beaman from Texas along with local swimmers Thomas Ekstrom and Nate Swallow.
"The early signing period for us has been a great one," comments Litzinger. "The University of Utah and our swimming program are continuing to attract quality people and athletes. For us to have some of the top athletes in the country like Natalie and Garret sign at Utah shows that we are continuing our climb up the ladder to the NCAA level."

South Jordan, Utah
Highlights: NISCA High School All-American in the 50 and 100 freestyle, along with the 200 and 400 free relays ... 2006 Utah State 5A Champion in the 50 and 100 freestyle and 200 free relay ... Edge's 50 free time is the seventh fastest in the nation of graduating seniors. Natalie's father Rick played football for the Utes in 1971-72.

Highlights: Finished third at Utah State High School Championships in the 50 and 100 free in 2006 ... NISCA High School All-American and state champion in the 400 free relay ... Kristina's brother George currently swims for the Utes and holds the Utah record as a member of the 800 Free Relay.
