In his second season for the Utes, Edmunds will be competing in the sprint free events as well as the 200 free.
"My favorite is the 100 free. The 50 is too short and the 200 is too long," he said. "Also, I think the 100 is the one I'm best at."
Edmunds recently returned to Utah after serving two years as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in St. Petersburg, Russia.
"Russia isn't as bad as people think. I loved it there," he said. "It's been really hard to get back into shape. It's a lot harder to do the same stuff that used to be easy to me. When I first was on the team, we had a different coach. He was more about swimming yards and getting in shape. Greg is more of a technical coach."
"I really like traveling with the team to meets. It's a lot of fun," he said. "I'm most excited to go to the conference meet in Oklahoma this year. I've been to it before and I'm looking forward to it.
In his 10 years of swimming, Edmunds set nine Weber High School records and earned a state title in 50 free.
Edmunds is double majoring in mechanical engineering and Russian. University of Utah Men Spotlight
Following after the footsteps of her older brother, George, Evans came to Utah to swim for the Utes.
"I was recruited by Michael Litzinger and had my first year with Greg [Winslow]," she said. "I like how he approaches coaching, how he wants to make a strong team and make this more of a team sport rather than individual."
In her previous two seasons at Utah, Evans has been named to the all-Mountain West Conference team for her part in the school record-holding 200 free team for the 2008-09 season. She has also been named as a MWC Scholar Athlete for the 2009 spring semester.
Evans is majoring in biology and planning on attending medical school and will take the MCAT in the spring. She also works at Moran Eye Center as a research assistant.
Evans finished first in the 100 free against Denver and North Texas on Oct. 24. Evans will be competing in the sprint free events this season, with her favorite event being the 50 free.
"The 50 is fun. You just jump into the water, swim fast and when you're done you're thinking, `Let's do it again!"
