The Utah women are picked to win the MWC Championship according to the preseason coaches poll.

The Mountain West Conference released its 2006-07 swimming and diving preseason poll on Wednesday. On the women's side, Utah is picked to take the conference crown for the fourth straight season. The Ute women garnered 52 points and five first-place votes, two points ahead of BYU. The Utah men's team is tabbed to finish fourth in the conference with 14 points.
Utah will begin its season on October 19, at the Beehive Relays in Provo, Utah. The first home meet of the season will be two days later on Saturday, October 21, versus Denver.
