SALT LAKE CITY - The University of Utah men's team was recently honored as a College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Academic All-America Swimming Team for the Winter/Spring semester of 2002. To qualify for this honor the grade point average of the entire swimming and diving squad, including all team members on the eligibility list, must average at least 2.8 on a 4.0 scale.
"This is the first time in the recent era that the Utes have received such an honor," said coach Mike Litzinger. "The team is making great progress not only in the pool but in the classroom. This is just a great effort by the team."
