Hannah Caron assists in the 200 medley relay

Federal Way, Wash. - At the King County Aquatics Center, the University of Utah women hit the pool for the first session of the Pac-12 Championships.
The women began with the 200 medley relay. Traycie Swartz, Nicole Ligeza, Hannah Caron and Samantha Zuch teamed up to touch in a time of 1:40.43, placing them seventh. The women missed breaking the school record by .01 seconds.
Cal took first in the event (1:36.77), followed by Stanford (1:36.90) and Arizona (1:37.33).
Leading the pack was Cal in first (7:01.44), while Stanford was second (7:02.76) and Arizona was third (7:02.83).
"We did a fantastic job tonight," said Utah head coach Greg Winslow. "I couldn't be more excited with where we're at right now. I'm looking forward to tomorrow."
After the first two events, Cal is in first place (128), with Stanford right behind (112). Arizona, Arizona State and USC are tied in third (104), while sixth place goes to UCLA (96) and Oregon is in seventh (90). Utah holds eighth place (88) and Washington State rounds out the competition in ninth (86).
