WEST LAYFAYETTE, Ind. - The University of Utah men's swimming and diving team finished competition at the Purdue Invitational on Saturday. In a meet that featured four match-ups, Utah beat Louisville and lost to Purdue, Penn State and Georgia. The Utes record now stands at 3-4 (0-1 in MWC competition).

Utah's David Maasberg finished third overall in the 50 free with his time of 20.97, while teammate Seamus Alger placed second in the 400 IM with a time of 4:01.41. Also for the Utes, the 400 free relay team of Maasberg, Andrew Cole, David Johnson and Tanner Folster finished third with a time of 3:06.40. "This was a great meet for us," states Head Coach Michael Litzinger. "The Purdue Invitational was a good experience for us to see some of the top teams on the national level and I'm pleased with how we have set ourselves up for success."

Utah will now wait until December 1-3, to compete again, when they will travel to the Ohio State Invitational.
