GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - The second day of competition at the Intermountain Shootout proved to be just as successful as the first for the Utah Swimming and Diving team.
The Utes won all five dual meets, beating Colorado Mesa (270-83) and Air Force (190-164) on the men's side. The Utah women's team defeated Northern Colorado (259-76), Colorado State (221-113) and Colorado Mesa (275-56).
The women added six wins on day two. Hannah Caron contributed three first-place finishes in the 200 IM (2:07.98) as well as the 200 free (52.66) and the 100 fly (56.47).
The 100 free was all about the Ute women as they took three of four top spots. Caron lead the way with Zuch close on her heels in second place (53.00). Zuch was trailed by Swartz in fourth (53.51).
Bjorn Gunnarsson cranked out a second place finish in the 100 free as well (46.43).
The Utah men's diving team took three out of the top four spots in the 3-meter dive. Brandon Stoppelmoor took first barley beating out teammate Nelson Foo with scores of 294.00 and 290.00. Caleb Herrick rounded out the Utes line up with a fourth-place finish (264.80)
Utah's next meet is on Thursday, Oct. 20 at No. 2 Stanford.
