SALT LAKE CITY- The University of Utah women's swimming and diving team beat Wyoming on Friday night, improving its record to 9-7 overall (4-2 in conference). The women won by a score of 133.5-103.5. The Ute Men lost to the Cowboys 125-106, the loss drops their record to 5-6 overall (1-2 in conference).

The Utah women won every event and had several swimmers win multiple events. Neringa Statkeviciute was a winner in the 100 free (51.92), 50 free (24.33) and 400 medley relay (3:54.73). Kristen Kaiser won the 1000 free (10:37.39) and the 200 fly (2:06.88) which was a new school record. Meghan Demchuk who was on the winning 400 medley relay team also won the 200 IM (2:11.03).

On the men's side Utah had a strong performance by Jonathan Larsen who won the 100 free (46.08), 50 free (21.05) and was on the winning 400 medley relay team (3:23.72) along with David Fleisch, Evan Castro and Cody Rempfer who also won the 200 IM (1:55.08).

"I'm extremely proud of the men, they swam a good meet against a good team. We swam very hard and kept fighting until the end we just came up a little short," comments Head Coach Michael Litzinger. "The women stepped up and won every race. They showed that they will be a force in the conference."
