SALT LAKE CITY - The University of Utah men's and women's ski teams had eight of its student-athletes honored by the Mountain West Conference today, recognizing them with the Scholar-Athlete Award.
Honored were: Tony Bozzio, Jr., 3.73, Pre-medicine; Jess Kiesel, Junior, 3.61, Environmental Studies; Gaspar Perricone, So., 3.57, Political Science; Ben Thornhill, Jr., 3.58, Business; Lina Johansson, Sr., 3.58, Sport Psychology; April Mancuso, Jr., 3.59, Biology; Anna Sprague, Sr., 3.97, Biology; Elisha Stephens, Sr., 3.62, Art-Graphic Design.
To be eligible, student-athletes must have completed at least two semesters or three quarters at the certifying institution while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better, and have competed in at least one varsity contest in their respective sport.
