The formal naming of the 2014 U.S. Olympic Team by the United States Olympic Committee is set for Jan. 27.
Koos, who has won seven U.S. sprint titles, is competing in his fourth Olympics (2002, '06, '10). He was a three-time All-America skier at Utah. He finished seventh in the classic at the 2001 NCAA Championships while placing fourth in the classic race in 2002 with a sixth-place run in the freestyle race. He also ran track and cross country for the Utes. Koos graduated from Utah in 2004 with a degree in communications.
Cook, who will be competing in her first Olympics, earned All-America honors as a senior with a ninth-place finish in the 15-km freestyle. She was a three-time NCAA qualifier for the Utes. Cook has been a member of the U.S. biathlon team since 2009 and is in her third season on the World Cup circuit. She graduated from Utah in 2009 with a degree in international studies.
