SANTA FE SKI AREA, New Mexico--After three days of competition at the Michelobo F.I.S.U. Invitational, the Utes finished in second place overall. Utah earned 391 points during the three days of competition falling five points short of Colorado who totaled 396.
Rune Kollerud and Frode Kollerud finished in the top five in three Cross Country events. Rune Kollerud took 2nd in the 10k classic pursuit, 2nd in the 10k skate and 3rd in the combined event. His brother Frode Kollerud finished 5th in the 10k classic pursuit, 1st in the 10k skate and 2nd in the combined.
For the women, Kristine Joder and Hailey Wappet also finished in the top five for Cross Country. Joder finished 3rd with a time of 38.36 and Wappet finished 5th at 39.10.
On a team level, Utah finished second in both the Alpine and the Nordic team standings. The Utes earned 187 points in Alpine, trailing Denver by six points and scored 204 points in Nordic competition, trailing Colorado by 20.
